The title “Clinical Psychologist” is legally protected in the UK, meaning that anyone using this title has completed doctoral-level training and is registered with the appropriate regulatory body. Unlike broader terms such as “therapist” or “counsellor,” which are not legally regulated titles, becoming a Clinical Psychologist requires extensive specialist training.
I am trained as both a clinician and a researcher, meaning I ground my work in established evidence-based approaches while integrating emerging research to ensure treatment reflects current best practice.
I am a Clinical Psychologist and hold HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration (my registration number is PYL047397).
You can read more about the types of difficulties I work with and the treatment models I use on the 'expertise' page, located under the 'therapy' section in the menu.
Therapy is usually most effective when sessions are held weekly, and ideally at the same time and day each week. Most evidence-based approaches are structured around weekly sessions, as this helps us gain momentum and maintain continuity. Therapy can also bring up challenging thoughts and emotions, and a regular, consistent space helps us to process these safely and move towards positive change together. If your circumstances make this difficult, we can discuss whether an bi-weekly arrangement would be workable.
There is also evidence supporting more intensive approaches for certain anxiety disorders, including OCD, PTSD and social anxiety. Where clinically appropriate, I can offer bespoke, time-limited intensive work over a shorter period, including weekend sessions.
You are never obliged to continue therapy. Circumstances can change, priorities shift, or you may feel ready to pause. If you decide to stop, we can use a session to reflect on the work and think about how you might continue to draw on it going forward.
I currently offer sessions online. Online therapy is well supported by research and has been shown to be comparable to in-person therapy for many psychological difficulties.
Details of my current fees can be found on the fees page. You are welcome to contact me if you would like to discuss anything further.
You can read about my experience in my biography.
Charges apply for all cancellations or missed sessions. If we are engaging in longer-term work then holidays and breaks will be discussed together.
